arnold calendar
Hi guys,
I wanted to print my own arnold calendar, with photos I found on the internet, but im worried about the copyrights, cos the photos are not mine. Should I be? If its just for my personal use? Ive tried to find the info all over the internet, like here http://copyright.co.uk/ and here http://photography.about.com/od/copyrightinformation/Photo_Rights_Photogaphers_RightsCopyright_Information_and_Resources.htm but cant find this exact thing anywhere.. I asked my printer too (http://print24.com/uk/) and they said that it was my responsibility to make sure I have the rights to the photos. Makes sense but I dont know what to do really…
I’d appreciate any help, thanks
There are always copyright issues when using other people’s content without their permission unless if they have stated that you can use it for the purposes that the content owners define. Flickr is a good place if you’re looking for Arnie images that can be used but adjust your image search settings to include creative commons images only. You may need to reference the person who took the image on the printed version for plenty of the results but at least you know you’ll have permission to use it if you credit their name on the calendar.
Sounds like you’re going to be producing a one off for yourself so you should be okay but if you are going to be printing off a large batch of calendars I’d recommend using Solopress. They do really good flyers so the calendars should be the same quality.
